One defined scope from the old slab to the finished driveway

Complete replacement removes the existing concrete within the agreed boundaries and builds a new driveway. It gives us access to the supporting material and allows the new layout, grades and joints to be planned together. An overlay or a selected panel repair is a different scope.

In Rockrimmon, Colorado Springs, we replaced a 2,400 square foot residential driveway in June 2024. Cracked panels, rough surface wear and uneven sections extended along the route to the garage. Full replacement allowed the garage connection, intermediate sections and lower approach to be considered together.

The old concrete was broken out and removed. We evaluated the exposed ground, corrected support with excavation and replacement gravel where needed, and compacted the base in layers. Form work established the perimeter and drainage grades before reinforcement was positioned.

Concrete was placed in a planned sequence through the wider and narrower sections. A broom finish, organized control joints, finished edges, garage separation and curing completed the replacement. The finished gray approach carries a consistent appearance along the full route. This case shows the continuity of work from demolition through a coordinated completed driveway.

Establish the boundary at the garage, landscape and street

We identify where the driveway work stops. A garage floor, walkway, retaining wall or landscape area is not automatically part of the replacement. If you want adjoining work completed, include it in the evaluation so it can be described and priced.

The street connection requires the same attention. Aprons, curbs, gutters and sidewalks may involve a separate scope, an appropriately licensed contractor and jurisdiction coordination. We address that responsibility during planning rather than treating all concrete near the driveway as one item.
