Concrete Landings
A landing is where the walk meets the door, where stairs turn, or where a change in direction needs a level platform. Landings need to be flat enough for safe use, sloped enough to shed water, and isolated from the house so seasonal movement does not carry through. We build them with the same care as a driveway, scaled to the people who use them.
Level and drainage
Landings are built level in the direction of travel with a slight cross slope so water drains off. Thresholds and door clearances are checked before forming so the finished landing does not trap water at the entry.
Isolation and reinforcement
Landings are isolated from the foundation and nearby slabs with a joint that lets each piece move without cracking. Steel is held in place and sized for the loads and traffic the landing will carry.
Transitions and safety
Landings at stair turns and direction changes are sized for comfortable, safe use. Traction finish, edge detail, and handrail coordination are all planned before the pour.
