Concrete Sidewalks and Walkways
Walkways look like the simplest concrete on a property and they are the most commonly rushed. A walk poured on loose soil with random joints will crack and lift within a few seasons. We build them to the same standard as a driveway, scaled to what they actually carry.
Layout and grade
We set width, slope, and cross slope before forming so water leaves the walk and the transitions at doors, steps, and driveways are safe. Where accessibility requirements apply, slopes and landings are built to meet them.
Base and jointing
A compacted gravel base runs under the full walk, joints are spaced to the thickness and shape of the walk, and isolation joints go in where the walk meets buildings, steps, and the driveway slab.
Finish
Broom finish for traction is our default in Colorado Springs. Exposed aggregate borders, integral color, and saw cut patterns are available and written into your contract when you choose them.

How wide should a front walk be?
Three feet is functional, four feet lets two people walk together comfortably, and five feet reads as a main entry approach. The right width depends on your house and how the entry gets used.
